Nhon Hoa 1 Wind Farm is a 50MW wind power plant located in Gia Lai Province, Vietnam. Nhon Hoa 1 Wind Farm comprises 12 turbines, each 74m in diameter, and delivers power to the national grid. It will supply an average annual generation of 164 GWh to the grid and reduce the baseline grid emissions by an 135,000 tCO2e p.a.

Expected Issuance

The average annual issuance is 135,000 Verified Emission Reductions. Verification and issuance will occur on a regular basis.

Sustainable Development Contributions

Nhon Hoa 1 Wind Farm contributes to SDG 7 “Clean Energy”, SDG 13 “Emissions Reductions”, SDG 8 “Job Creation” and SDG 4 “Quality Education”.

It’s worthy of note that the area has been designated as Extremely Difficult Socio-Economic Conditions (the highest rating in Vietnam). This area is one of the most economically disadvantaged in Vietnam and the local area is home to the J’Rai minority ethnic group. The wind farm brings many positive influences to the local economy, including the development of infrastructure, jobs and tourism. The project owners are active contributors to the local community, supporting many causes.

For the long-term, in addition to supporting the balance in electricity demand and supply in the region, the project contributes to the taxation revenue of Gia Lai province.
